Malco Tools, Inc. one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of high-quality, American-made tools for the HVAC trade (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), has been recognized by the Minnesota Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (MNSHARP) for its dedication to workplace safety and health. The company has maintained its MNSHARP certification since 2004.
MNSHARP recognizes companies whose managers and employees work together to develop safety and health programs that go beyond basic compliance with all applicable OSHA standards, and result in immediate and long-term prevention of job-related injuries and illnesses. Malco was recertified for the next three years.
To achieve this status, Malco worked together with Minnesota OSHA Workplace Safety Consultation to develop and implement an effective written safety program. Key elements of this comprehensive program include involving both management leadership and employees, allocating resources to address safety issues, implementing systems that identify and control workplace hazards, and facilitating employee safety training and education.
“As a MNSHARP worksite going on 18 years, Malco’s employee-owners continue to prioritize workplace safety above all else,” said Rich Benninghoff, Malco president and CEO. “Our superior tools promote on-the-job safety and health for hands-on trade pros, just as we remain committed to providing a safe facility and healthy work environment for our staff.
“We are very proud to receive the MNSHARP recertification once again,” said Scott Crane, COO for Malco. “By developing a well-managed safety and health program, we have not only protected our workers from injuries and illnesses, but have also improved morale and productivity in the process.”
