Malco Tools, Inc. was recently recognized by the Minnesota Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (MNSHARP) for its dedication to workplace safety and health. Malco was recertified for the next three years for working with management and employees to develop safety and health programs that go beyond basic compliance with applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for long-term prevention of job-related injuries and illnesses. Certification is granted after successful completion of a written safety program that is created by the company and Minnesota OSHA Workplace Safety Consultation (WSC).
The written safety program that was developed by Malco and WSC included key elements surrounding management leadership and employee involvement, allocation of resources to address safety issues, systems that identify and control workplace hazards and a plan for employee safety training and education. Malco has been MNSHARP certified since 2004.
“The safety of our employee-owners is our top priority as a company,” said Mardon Quandt, Malco president and CEO. “We’re dedicated to ensuring our hard-working staff come to facilities that are properly equipped to put safety first and are surrounded by people who are passionate about creating superior products in a safe environment.”
“We are honored to receive the MNSHARP re-certification which showcases our commitment to workplace safety and health for the 15th consecutive year,” said Malco director of operations and Minnesota Safety Council board member Deb Nistler.
